Camping in Paracas

Paracas is a 3-hour or so drive from Lima, straight south along the coast.
We've  been several times, and it remains one of our favorite weekend getaway spots.
The desert there is beautiful; full of colors and interesting contrasts.
It's usually sunny, even when it's gray in Lima.
This time of year (summer) it's really lovely. There are jolly public beaches, outdoor restaurants on the shore with plenty of cebiche, and lots of migrating birds.
Recently, we spent a weekend there with friends, and camped overnight in the Paracas nature reserve. We weren't the only ones with this idea, so shared the campground (on a pretty beach) with others. The main issue there was having to put up with other people's tastes in music well into the wee hours and then, again, as soon as the sun was up again in the morning. Still, that's just the way it is - and well worth it...
