Museo Larco

The Museo Larco is situated in a lovely old hacienda, in a part of Lima called Pueblo Libro. It contains a beautiful collection of ceramics from many different early Peruvian cultures, some dating back more than 3,000 years.
The pieces are organized both geographically and chronologically, so you can see how they evolve from fairly crude figures and shapes to more refined ones, and how they vary over time and across cultures from monochromatic to the use of multiple colors, and ultimately glazes.

One part of the museum contains multiple rooms filled with floor-to-ceiling shelves of ceramics. It's very impressive.
